Fender Rock Pro 1000 not working.. just smokingOnce inside I found a dead transformer.. output transistors and boas diodes so all replaced…New Transistors and diodes in placeNo transformer in the case. The one I had would just not quite fit so decided to mount in the bottom of the cab (also good for hum etc..)Transformer mounted in base of the cabNeeds an enclosure to make sure it is safe..Enclosure made up from pine and black plastic sheets. Will stop anyone electrocuting themselves or shorting out the transformer..grill off for a cleanAll back together and tested outSounding great with my Semi…defo a Rock Amp Bought as a none functioning amp and required a new transformer, output transistors and bias diodes… I used a 200VA Transformer which was probably overkill. I could not easily get the original Fender one and did not want to spend too much money on this amp as it is not that valuable (but still sounds great to me!) Transformer had a slightly different form factor so ended up in the bottom of the Amp cab. Quite like the distortion which comes from one tube used as a rectifier!.
I have one of these amps and one day it just started generating a really hideous buzzing sound. I can’t seem to find a thing wrong with it on the inside. I wasn’t sure if it might be the tube or not?
Could be a few things probably an issue with one of the output transistors.. I could fix it for you if you send it to me 😉
