Traynor YGL3 Combo from 1973 reworked to make a stunning amp!

Great 100 Watt Combo from 1973. Similar to a Fender Twin Reverb but in my opinion better! The tone stack is Fendery but has an additional Mid control Stack that is separate and much more effective. Massive Reverb! The Reverb Tank is driven from an EL84 directly with no transformer.. massive sound.. really good (and I have recently repaired several Fender Twins but prefer this! A great amp and can be had very reasonably.

: Testing on the bench and issue found with the reverb.. in the end it needed new leads.. needed to use my scope to find out where the issue was. Uses an EL84 tube to drive the reverb tank with no transformer

: Did not change the smaller caps.. nothing wrong with them.. just replaced the main bias cap and increased the first power supply to dual 50uF (I put in 32uF first originals 40uF )

: I love this amp.. similar to a Twin but I thinkt he tone range is wider.. huge reverb sound! really impressed with the design.

: Changed Speakers out for some G12H type speakers from an HH amplifier

: These have been reconed at some point and are 16 Ohm speakers

: Amp modified with a valve rectifier GZ34 and now running 2 output tubes.. The output impedance fromt he transformer now is 8 Ohms which matches the new speakers
